I have played the saxophone for 25 years, starting when I was a teenager and studying with Norman Frost of Heswall, Wirral where I took grade exams and played with the Norman Roy Big Band, performing with local bands around Merseyside
Further formal music study at college in Manchester from where I attained a place on the prestigious City of Leeds College of Music Jazz Studies course and graduated with a BAhons.
I have performed regularly all over the North West for more than 15 years in all manner of bands, ensembles, trios, duos, quartets, quintets, even solo performances . . . . in a variety of styles, Jazz, Blues, Soul, African, Latin – right across the musical spectrum and so am well equipped to advise on matters musical where saxophones are involved.
I play...Alto Sax, Tenor Sax & Soprano Sax.
I have taught saxophone for several years and based on my academic study along with hands on experience working as a band leader, session musician, arranger, soloist, songwriter . . . and so on and on…I feel all this brings invaluable experience and knowledge that make for a good saxophone teacher who can produce quality soulful musicianship.
We can’t ask for much more than that!
